All Too Familiar Sight

I think I have seen this view a thousand times! This particular version is
at O'Hare airport waiting to take off for home. It is about 7:15 am and I
left the hotel at 5:30. Yea, I LOVE business travel!
I am pretty sure this connection flight to Salt Lake will be one of those
infamous 'instant' flights. I'll sit here and close my eyes just for a
second waiting for our departure. Then when I open them only a few
'seconds' later we will magically be on our landing approach to Salt Lake
airport!

I can only hope! So now closing my eyes ...

Command Encore

Well back off to Chicago. Haven't been there in what 6, 7 days? This time
though I am staying downtown and going to be attending an internal IBM
workshop. I found out Friday that I am speaking tomorrow! I am to talk
about my program and how it will help these 35 people that I don't know and
don't quite understand their roles. That will make things interesting.

I will also get a chance to catch up with an old high school friend
tonight. I am looking forward to it as she is a pretty neat person and is
doing / has done some amazing things with her singing & acting pursuits. I
look forward to hearing her sing tonight, too.

So this is a rare trip to Chicago where I am not doing the family thing.
Should be cool though.

It's 5:00 Somewhere!

And for the next 6 days I'll be celebrating that Jimmy Buffet factoid every
chance I get! This trip is just for me. No work (although some will get
done). No wife & kids (although they will be on my mind a lot). Just
kicking back and hanging out with my mom, sister & aunt. And trying to
relax, unwind and contemplate my future focus, direction and possible
paths.

In the meantime, though, I get to be the vacation traveler who has
seemingly ledft hos brain at the office!

Happy Independance Day!

Or as I like to say, "happy 11 days until. My birthday!

Can't get much better than this sitting on the beach in Laguna with a bunch
of friends. We saw a pod of dolphins. (Do they do 'pods'? Are they in a
pack? A peck? Oh heck let's just suy a buncha!)

Now we are just hanging out waiting for fireworks. From this vantage point
we can see up to Newport & Huntington on one side and down to Dana Point &
San Juan Capistrano on the other. Yep, hard to say life sucks right now!
